Mel provides approachable wellbeing support in the form of functional breathwork, somatic breathwork, integrative health and NDIS recovery coaching.

Working with Mel feels like a warm hug from a friend who just wants the best for you!

You'll find someone who'll hold you when you need support and safety, and someone who'll help you to create space to find your clear next steps.

She works by helping you to build foundations and rhythms which support the body and minds natural regeneration process.

This approach can work well alongside your primary care team. We utilise lifestyle, nourishment, improve how we digest 'stressors' in our lives, explore our emotional landscape and use functional breathing to support all parts of being 'human'.

MOMENT OF/ is a place where we create moments to pause and reflect on our inner-world.

The thoughts and feelings which sometimes lack space to be explored, meeting it all with compassion and gentle curiosity.

Melanie Proud

Shaped early in life, I’ve long been curious about what makes some grow through life’s challenges and adversity, while some become ‘frozen' by experiences.

I'm fascinated by how humans 'human'. Whats influences our choices and the lives that we create.

The curiosity became pretty real when, a decade into a fast-paced career in TV production, my health collapsed.

While coordinating world-class TV productions, I fell into a long-term struggle with chronic illness (and a list of wild symptoms too long to note).

It was the industry norm to push hard and to operate while exhausted, so for a long time I ignored the signals that something was really wrong.

I didn't want to let my team down, so I found ways of pushing through, until eventually, I couldn't. I was left in a really dark place, for a really long time.

Then came a decade of 'being scrappy' and finding a way out.

I took the route of self-education, studying courses in health coaching, functional nutrition, breathwork and movement, all for me, all as a way of solving problems from the inside out.

It was humbling, the most isolating time, and for a long time I grieved the life and identity of a 'productive person'. But gradually it opened my heart to a whole new way of experiencing life.

The biggest turning point came when I could finally see the beauty in the wake-up call. As challenging and painful as it had been.

It taught me how much lifestyle, suppressed emotions and our life experiences impact our health. But also how we define ourselves within our circles and society.

The experience formed a really lovely foundation of compassion  — especially for those navigating invisible challenges.

It took a while, but when I finally 'surrendered' into parts of my own recovery, things really started to shift.

Then came the curious questions. Those around me were interested in what I was doing and how I'd changed my circumstance, which led to how I spend my time today.

After leaving London to find quieter places to solve the health puzzle, I found my way to Australia.

I caught the farming bug while working on remote outback Australian cattle stations. From there I was fortunate to co-build a successful Organic produce farm. (Adventure stories for another time)

Today, I’m based in Coffs Harbour on the East Coast of Australia. I meet with clients online, in-person and run group experiences.

I travel home to London, UK as often as possible to stay connected to family and friends back home. x

As I approach the end of my base training in the therapeutic practice of Compassionate Inquiry with Dr Gabor Mate, I look forward to bringing the practice into sessions.
